Mussoorie, 7 Jan: A show cause notice was been sent to the Principal of MPG (Municipal Post Graduate) College seeking clarification on five points by Municipal Council Chairman Anuj Gupta.
Chairman Gupta told media persons that, on checking the bio-metric records of the attendance machine installed in the college, it was found that Principal Dr SP Joshi was never on time. He reached college after 12 p.m., when he ought to be there by 10 a.m. He said as it was also found that the principal was on leave without any permission of the managing committee. Gupta said, even though university exams were going on at the college, which started at 8 a.m., the principal wasn’t present. He asked who opened the question papers in the principal’s absence. There were many irregularities in college for which the principal was responsible.
He added that although housing allowance was being charged by the principal, he lived in his house in Dehradun. As per the law, the principal’s residence had to be no distant than nine kilometres from the college. A show cause notice had been sent to the principal and a clarification sought within ten days. If the answer was not found up to the mark, then strict action would be taken.
Meanwhile, Principal Dr SP Joshi accepted the delay in reaching the college as he came up from Dehradun. He claimed there was no affect on the work in college, as other people were deputed to do it. He claimed that since he took over, the condition of the college had much improved.
