Dehradun, 8 Feb: The Junior Wing of St Joseph’s Academy hosted an impressive Art & Craft and Science Exhibition, here, today. It showcased the creativity and innovative minds of the young students. The event provided a platform for the children to express their talent through a variety of fun, imaginative, and educational projects.

One of the highlights of the exhibition was the Best Out of Waste section put up by the kindergarten, in which the little ones demonstrated remarkable skills in transforming everyday materials into beautiful and functional creations. The kindergarteners took on the challenge of turning discarded items into pen stands, photo frames, piggy banks, paper bags, planters, and windchimes, making them not only creative but also environmentally friendly.

The children worked on unique themes, adding a personal touch to each creation. Some of the most popular themes included: Hogwarts, Dinosaurs, Angry Birds, Winter Wonderland and many more.

In addition to their artistic flair, the students also exhibited their budding scientific knowledge. Class V’s projects, based on the theme, Science in our Daily Lives, showcased how creativity and science could work together, with simple yet effective experiments and models that demonstrated basic scientific concepts. Students confidently explained concepts of simple machines, plant reproduction, energy and its sources, properties of light and shadows and different systems of the human body.

Class IV displayed Places of Tourist Interest in Uttarakhand, focussing on adventure sports, prestigious institutions, heritage sites, natural parks and the famous Chaar Dhaam of Uttarakhand. The exhibition not only highlighted the students’ talent and ingenuity but also fostered an appreciation for their state.

Classes III and II made working models on the universe, displaying galaxies and constellations, sun and solar energy, the eight planets, moon and satellites and space travel.

The young ones of Class I showcased the importance of reading books, displaying life sized models of various fairy tales and the lessons to learn from them.

The highlight of the exhibition was the display by the Art & Craft Department, wherein students of classes I to V had expressed themselves through various mediums in the form of jute bag painting, clay modelling, canvas painting, etc.

Principal Bro. Joseph, the Chief Guest, went around asking questions of the students about their models, showing interest in and appreciation for the same. He was very happy with the originality of the exhibits.
