Dehradun, 2 Dec: Navy Day is celebrated on 4 December every year to commemorate the attack on Karachi by the Indian Navy during the hostilities of 1971. To commemorate this event, the Indian Navy organises various activities as a part of the Navy Week.
As part of the Navy Week celebrations, a quiz competition was conducted at NHO on 1 December. Amrita Badhwar, President, Navy Wives Welfare Association, Dehradun, was the Chief Guest at the function. Six Schools – St Joseph’s Academy, Scholars’ Home, Army Public School, Bajaj Institute of Learning, Doon Global School and GRD Academy visited NHO for the function and participated in the quiz competition.
St Joseph’s Academy was adjudged the winner and Scholars’ Home, the runner-up. The children were also told about various aspects of the Indian Navy and the Hydrography Department, in particular, through technological demonstration and exhibition.
