Dehradun, 23 Mar: Sanyukta Nagrik Sangathan held a debate on the occasion of ‘Shahid Diwas’ a debate at 1, Inder Road, here, to commemorate the three great martyrs – Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, who sacrificed their lives to achieve independence for the country.
A large number of members from the Swatantrata Senani Evam Uttaradhikari Sangathan, Kshatriya Chetna Manch, NAPSR, Sarwadharam Samaj, Sadbhawna Samiti, Social Justice Foundation, Poorva Sainik Sangathan, Swatantrata Senani Uttaradhikari Samiti, All India Consumers’ Council, Bharat Tibet Maitri Sangathan, RIT Club, Sanyukta Bank Employee Association, Paryavaran Mitra, Doon Food Relief Fund, Sikh Sevak Samaj, Divyang Sahyog Samiti, Sanyukta Nagrik Sangathan and others.
Dr S Farooq, Patron, was the Chief Guest. The event was presided over by Brig KG Behl (Retd). It was compered by Arif Khan, Secretary. Sushil Tyagi, Secretary General, described the purpose of the debate.
Those who spoke on the occasion included Bhadra Singh Negi, Seva Singh Mathur, Amarjeet Singh Bhatia, Sandip Shastri, Jitendra Dandona, Gulistan Khanam, Col BM Thapa (Retd), Asha Tamta, Jagmohan Mehndiratta, Shering Luding and others. They spoke on different aspects of the freedom fighters. Most of the speakers laid stress on removing corruption.
Dr S Farooq, described in his poetic style, the freedom struggle and what the leaders wanted for the country. Brig KG Behl laid stress on selfless service to the nation.

On this occasion, Seema Bisht was felicitated by Dr S Farooq.
