Speaker Agarwal thanks CM Dhami for Tourism Relief Package

Dehradun, 22 Jul: Vidhan Sabha Speaker Premchand Agarwal paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, here, today. He expressed appreciation of the announcement by the CM of a Rs 200 crore relief package for the Tourism Sector.
Representatives of the transport industry also accompanied the Speaker and felicitated the CM.
It may be recalled that the Speaker had raised the travails of the tourism and transport sectors before the CM at their meeting on 9 July. Agarwal said he was glad the CM had taken his concerns seriously. He expressed confidence that the relief package would bring substantial succour to those involved in the tourism, hotel, transport, cultural and other sectors. Pointing out that Tourism and Pilgrimage were the backbone of the state’s economy, he emphasised the need to ensure their survival.
The CM and the Speaker also held discussions on reviving the Char Dham Yatra. With the portals of the Char Dham having opened quite some time ago, the devotees and those involved in the pilgrimage sector were facing great inconvenience.
