Dehradun, 24 Jul: As per the directions of the National Legal Services Authority and under the aegis of the Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority, Nainital, the District Legal Services Authority, Dehradun, will organise a Special Lok Adalat at the Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT), here, 2 August, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This Special Lok Adalat will serve as an important alternative dispute resolution mechanism for the amicable settlement of cases related to recovery of Non-Performing Asset (NPA) loans provided by banks and financial institutions. Disputes will be resolved at the DRT through mutual consent and compromise between the parties concerned.
Registrar of the Debt Recovery Tribunal, Mukesh Kumar Gairola, stated that the tribunal’s jurisdiction covers the entire state of Uttarakhand as well as eight districts of Uttar Pradesh — Amroha, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Muzaffarnagar, and Saharanpur.
Interested borrowers, banks, and financial institutions wishing to have their cases listed in this Special Lok Adalat may submit their applications personally or through their advocates at the Debt Recovery Tribunal, Dehradun, on any working day by 1 August. This Lok Adalat provides a significant opportunity for both borrowers and lenders to resolve loan recovery disputes amicably.
