State BJP pays tribute to Ahmedabad plane crash victims

Dehradun, 13 Jun: The BJP leaders of Uttarakhand today offered heartfelt tributes to those who lost their lives in the Ahmedabad plane crash.

A condolence meeting was held at the party’s state headquarters here today, where National General Secretary and State In-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam, along with State President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt, led party workers in paying silent respects by laying flowers.

Expressing his condolences, Gautam noted the wave of grief that has swept across the nation since the Ahmedabad-London bound flight crashed. He stated that the tragedy has claimed the lives of citizens from India and various other countries, creating a sorrowful atmosphere. Recalling his own air travel experiences, he remarked that although passengers were present at the airport today, the usual bustle and conversation were noticeably absent.

Gautam also reminded about the significant contributions of those lost in the crash, particularly former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, whose demise is deeply distressing for the BJP family. He assured that the administration and government have been engaged in relief and rescue operations since the incident. He prayed for peace for the departed souls and strength for their grieving families, urging the nation to overcome this crisis and continue on the path of development.

State Party President Mahendra Bhatt described the crash as an extremely tragic event, in which 265 individuals lost their lives. Calling it an unforeseen loss affecting citizens of multiple nations, he observed that no words could adequately capture the grief. He stated that the party leaders prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to all souls and provide the affected families with the strength to endure this immense sorrow. As workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party, their sympathies are with those families. He announced the postponement of all party programmes, confirming that tributes are being paid across the state, in alignment with sentiments nationwide.

Former Chief Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, while paying homage, remarked that the entire nation and world are mourning the tragedy. He stated that the people of Uttarakhand join in prayers for the peace and salvation of all those virtuous souls who have lost their lives.” He also wished strength for the bereaved families to bear their sorrow.

The condolence meeting, moderated by State General Secretary Rajendra Bisht, was also attended by State General Secretary (Organisation) Ajaey Kumar, State General Secretary Khilendra Chaudhary, Dharampur MLA Vinod Chamoli, State Vice Presidents Shailendra Bisht and Mukesh Koli, Party State Office Secretary Kastubanand Joshi, State Media In-charge Manveer Chauhan, Lal Batti holders Jyoti Gairola, Kailash Pant, Vishwas Dabar, Vinay Ruhela, Subhash Badthwal, Vinod Uniyal, Madhu Bhatt, Neha Joshi, Aditya Chauhan, and Ajendra Ajay, along with a large number of party workers.
