Dehradun, 29 Sep: The Station Health Organisation along with MH Dehradun celebrated World Heart Day 2025 here, today, under the global theme “Don’t Miss a Beat”. The event focused on raising awareness about cardiovascular and lifestyle-related diseases.

The programme began with an inaugural address, followed by a lecture by Col Alok Gupta, OC, SHO, Dehradun, who emphasised the importance of preventing heart diseases through healthy lifestyle choices. Brig Parikshit Singh, Commandant, MH, also gave a brief talk, sharing key tips on maintaining good health and the significance of regular check-ups.

A skit was performed by the Department of Medical Health and Family Welfare, Uttarakhand, focusing on creating awareness about lifestyle diseases and HIV/AIDS. The performance aimed to educate the public on the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle choices, such as balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and stress management, to prevent conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, while also addressing the prevention and management of HIV/AIDS. The skit was conducted under the initiative, “Healthy Women and Empowered Families Pakhwada”, highlighting prevention, safe practices, and reducing stigma.

A free health camp was also organised at the venue, offering blood pressure, blood sugar, height, and weight checks, alongside a health exhibition showcasing tips for heart care and general wellness.

Winners of the painting competitions held earlier at KV Upper Camp and KV Birpur were felicitated with prizes, encouraging young participants to promote health awareness through creativity.

The event concluded with a pledge to adopt healthier lifestyles and spread awareness, reflecting the spirit of this year’s theme, “Don’t Miss a Beat”.
