Mussoorie, 21 Dec: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi today formally unveiled the statue of the country’s former Prime Minister, the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, at Atal Udyan here, today, in the presence of BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a national leader whose words were listened to with seriousness not only by his supporters but also by leaders of the opposition. He said that Vajpayee had a special attachment to Mussoorie and that his contribution to the creation of Uttarakhand as a separate state was historic and unforgettable. Joshi added that his thoughts and works continue to be a source of inspiration for all.
On the occasion, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi also announced the improvement of parking facilities at Atal Udyan and the construction of a polyhouse, which will benefit local residents and tourists alike.

Addressing the programme, the Chief Guest, BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt, said, “Atal Bihari Vajpayee lives on in our thoughts. Nation-building can be taken forward only by following his principles and values.” Bhatt added that the personality and legacy of the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee continue to inspire millions of people even today.
On this occasion, Municipal Council Chairperson Meera Saklani, Mandal President Rajat Agrawal, Mohan Petwal, OP Uniyal, Surendra Rana, Man Mohan Sharma, Satish Dhoundiyal, Manmohan Kandwal, along with a large number of members of the general public, were also present.
