Ambedkar’s birth anniversary celebrated in Mussoorie

Mussoorie, 14 Apr: The 134th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar was celebrated with pomp at Ambedkar Chowk here, today, under the aegis of the Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Academy, Mussoorie.
Activists of the Academy along with people from various social and political organisations garlanded the statue of Baba Saheb and raised slogans recalling his contribution to the nation. Sudesh Saini, National President of Sidva Peeth Shri Goga Jahar Veer Mahadi Religious and Social Trust, as well as Sunil Sonkar, President of Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Academy, were each felicitated with a copy of the Constitution and a shawl for social work.
On the occasion, the speakers said that Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar was not only a jurist, economist, politician, but also a social reformer. They said that there is a need to bring the thoughts and principles of Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar to the ground level. They called for the spirit of ‘we’ rising above ‘I’ through the discharge of duties towards society. It was asserted that PM Modi is fulfilling the dreams of Baba Saheb Ambedkar.
Born in a poor and deprived family, Baba Saheb proved that with determination, hard work and courage, a person can achieve even the most difficult goals. His life was full of struggles. With his high morale, he was successful in uniting the country by overcoming every obstacle of life. On this occasion, former Municipal President OP Uniyal, Trade Union President Rajat Aggarwal, Congress City President Amit Gupta, Darshan Rawat, Satish Dhoundiyal, District Spokesperson, AAP, Prakash Rana, BJP General Secretary Kushal Rana, Jasbir Kaur, Darshan Rawat, Rakesh Thakur, Jagjit Kukreja, Aryan Dev Uniyal, Amit Bhatt, Manish Kukshal, Gambhir Panwar, Vijay Bindwal, Vijay Lakshmi Kohli, Mamta Rao, Sudesh Saini, Anil Singh Annu, Mohan Shahi, Atul Agarwal, Mahesh Chandra, Arvind Sonkar, Mohan Kaintura, Deepak Banswal, Rajeev Agarwal, Ashish Kanojia, Avtar Kukreja, Nafees Qureshi, Vijay Ramola, Vinay Chaturvedi, Gud Mohan Rana, Uttam Negi, Jalees Qureshi and many others were also present.
