Dehradun, 30 Dec: The tableau of Uttarakhand state has yet again been approved for the Republic Day Parade-2023 to be held in New Delhi. The tableau is based on the Manas Khand and it was proposed by the Information Department at the suggestion of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The Government of India has given its final approval to display the tableau of ‘Manas Khand’ in the Republic Day parade on New Delhi’s Kartavya Path, next year.
This information was shared by Director General of the Information Department, Banshidhar Tiwari. He stated that the tableau would depict deer, stag, ghural (mountain goat), peacock and various other birds found in Uttarakhand in the back part of the tableau. They would be shown roaming in the Corbett National Park in the front and middle part of the tableau. Jageshwar Temples and the Deodar trees from the hills will be shown, along with Uttarakhand’s famous folk art ‘Aipan’. Tiwari added that a Choliya dance troupe would also perform the folk dance along with the tableau during the parade.
It is worth mentioning that, on the lines of Kedarnath and Badrinath, work is being done on the Manas Khand Mandir Mala Mission scheme for the temples of Kumaon at the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
About 27 states had sent their proposals to the Government of India for the Republic Day tableaus, in which 16 states have been finally selected. The nodal officer for the national function, Joint Director, Information, KS Chauhan stated that the tableau of Uttarakhand was finalised after his presentation before the expert committee constituted under the Ministry of Defence. It may be recalled that, so far, the tableaux from Uttarakhand have been displayed 13 times during the Republic Day Parade since the formation of the state.
