Dehradun, 22 Dec: In the present time, the lifestyle of common people has become complex and due to this every person in one way or the other is suffering from depression. To make life depression free, with the help of past experiences one can easily get rid of this severe disorder. These views were expressed by Psychologist Dr Rahul Mishra, today. Talking to Garhwal Post, he said that, for long, he has been practicing psycho synthesis as a health professional in non-drug intervention, medicine free solutions to mental health and behavioural problems.

He said that central to his success are his very popular counselling sessions with individuals, students and educational institutes. He is known for his deep understanding of the human psyche. He is an excellent speaker with great communications skills. His approach of science with spirituality gives him an empathy-based approach for resolving problems.

He also said that his assessment of the problem is non-judgmental and focused on resolving past issues that are obstacles to the full realisation of one’s current and future life goals. He also said that he helps in the discovery of who one truly is to achieve a meaningful and authentic life by guiding one to contact one’s deeper powers. During these sessions he also explores the emotional triggers and unconscious beliefs that keep one stuck in a rut.

He also shared that his main objective is to help people achieve spiritual growth employing methods of deep inquiry, intuitive and guided meditations. He added that his sessions involve talking, listening, asking questions and reflecting how one hears and experiences. He said that he provides insight and meaning on different psychological concepts that might help develop skills to manage troubling emotions and thoughts. He might work through early childhood experiences and past trauma, current issues to help one connect with one and understand the real and true nature, leading to the potential for self-growth, self-realisation, healing and change in oneself and the loved ones.

He lastly shared that he has more than 15 years’ experience in the field of education and training. His journey as a counsellor and motivator started in 2006 with key focus on counselling students and parents, helping them deal with pressures of competitive exams and mental and psychological issues. He has also taken seminars, workshops and group sessions for career counselling, personality development, aptitude, interview skills, group discussions and orientation and induction for new students. He is also equally passionate about fitness and the sport of football, which he uses as a counselling tool in some cases whem required to teach self-esteem, building spirit, resilience and related issues.
