New Delhi, 24 Jul: Members of Parliament from Uttarakhand, including Anil Baluni (Pauri Garhwal), Trivendra Singh Rawat (Haridwar), Ajay Bhatt (Nainital), and Maharani Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah (Tehri), today called on Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah to demand stringent measures against the promoters implicated in the LUCC fraud case. The MPs expressed grave concern over the alleged financial deception that has reportedly victimised poor communities in the hills of the state. They urged the Union Home Minister to ensure swift recovery and restitution of the victims’ hard-earned money.

The MPs apprised Shah of the Uttarakhand government’s recommendation for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the matter, underlining the urgency of action at the national level. They further appealed for the extradition of the accused from abroad with assistance from Interpol, stressing that bringing the perpetrators to justice would send a strong deterrent message to potential fraudsters targeting vulnerable populations.

Assuring his full support, Shah conveyed that decisive action would be taken and that those responsible would not escape the consequences of their misdeeds.
