Dehradun, 28 Aug: Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) today directed the Vice-Chancellors of state universities to conduct surprise inspections of colleges and institutions affiliated with their universities. He emphasised that there should be no lapse in the facilities provided to students and their overall development. He stressed that the education system should be student-centred, focusing on their holistic development and improvement in education quality. The Governor also urged universities to aim for an e-culture by maximising the use of technology.

The Governor chaired a review meeting at the Raj Bhavan with Vice-Chancellors of all state universities, today, along with senior government officials. He instructed the universities to share best practices, coordinate through MOUs, and publicise these efforts. During the meeting, Vice-Chancellors updated him on the progress on the mini research papers under the “One University-One Research” initiative. Previously available as a mobile app, it is now being upgraded to include additional features.
