Dehradun, 24 August: An important MoU was signed today between Police Training College Narendra Nagar and Uttaranchal University. The President of the University, Jitendra Joshi and Director of Police Training Centre, DIG were present on the occasion. The documents of this important MoU were exchanged between Joshi and DIG Dadan Pal. Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Rajesh Bahuguna said that with this MoU, on one hand the police officers of Uttarakhand will get the benefit of the state-of-the-art infrastructure and experts of Law College Dehradun, on the other hand, the students of Law College will benefit from the experience of police officers and will be able to learn the practical implementation of law.
DIG Dadan Pal said that the police personnel of Uttarakhand will get the benefit of availability of state-of-the-art resources and online data base including subject experts, library equipped with latest law books and moot court working in Law College Dehradun of Uttaranchal University. Due to this, both the institutions will be able to jointly run cooperation, skills and best training programs in academic activities. He said that Uttaranchal University-Police Training College agreement will bring unexpected results.
President Jitendra Joshi said that some objectives have been categorized in this MoU but these are not limited. He said that application of law, research, innovation, training and online education through various departments of the university and especially Law College Dehradun will also be a part of this MoU. He said that this union of law education and police service will bring pleasant results.
University Vice Chancellor Prof Dharam Buddhi called this MoU an exemplary step. He said that in the present era of industry-oriented curriculum, there is a need for agreements and coordination between universities and industrial units as well as all those institutions where the education acquired in the university has to be implemented.
On this occasion, Additional SP of Police College Training College, Shekhar Chand Suyal, RI Akhilesh Kumar, University Registrar Dr Anuj Kumar Rana and Law College Dehradun Principal Prof Poonam Rawat were present.
