Dehradun, 7 Feb: Acclaimed Interactive Exhibitor, celebrated exponent of Hindustani music, Pratyush Gupta launched his book “Master of the 7 Swars: A magical pop-up book on Indian classical music” at Natraj Bookshop, here, today.

Legend says that the seven Swars – Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha and Ni were born from the sounds of animals, each with its own mood and colour.

This book is an immersive learning adventure that ignites young minds with the magic of music.

A really beautiful and thoughtful initiative to introduce Indian music to children and youngsters.

Hear, see, touch and play music with kaga, a crow who wishes to sing like the legendary Tansen.

It is full of pop-ups one can illuminate to bring the swars to life.

Gupta, while speaking after the release, said an effort must be made to inculcate love for music among the young and added that, without music, without harmony, without love, life is nothing.

Parents and teachers need to take the initiative.
