Mussoorie, 10 Oct: Woodstock School organised its 2nd Invitational Badminton Tournament in which many schools of the region participated enthusiastically. St George’s College, Mussoorie, Aryan School, Dehradun, Oak Grove School, Mussoorie, Hampton Court School, Mussoorie, Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School, Mussoorie, Woodstock School, Mussoorie, Ecole Global School, Dehradun, Mussoorie International School, Tula’s International School, Dehradun, participated in the tournament.
After thrilling matches, St George’s College won the Overall Team Championship in the boys’ category, while Oak Grove School secured the second position. In the girls’ category, Ecole Global School was the winner and Woodstock School came second. In the Under 18 girls’ category, Woodstock School won the team championship title. In the Under 18 boys’ category, Woodstock School secured the second position while St George’s College came first.
In the individual Under 13 boys’ category, Heiyaikomba (SGC) defeated Shivansh (Oak Grove School) in the final. In the Under 13 Girls’ category, Kaveri (Ecole Global) defeated Sophia (Oak Grove School). In the Under 15 Boys’ category, Ashutosh (SGC) won the title by defeating his teammate, Abhinav. In the Under 15 Girls’ category, Aadya Reddy (Ecole Global) defeated Pihu (Oak Grove School) in a close contest. In the Under 18 Boys’ category, Yash Garg (SGC) won the title by defeating Sweshik. In the Under 18 Girls’ category, Aahan Jain of Woodstock School won the title by defeating Tenzin Choden in the final.
Om Prakash, Aniket Yadav, Varun Pant, Sameer Raina, and Chinmay served as judges in the tournament. The tournament was organised by Ajay Negi and Anirudh Upadhyaya (Woodstock School).
