Mussoorie, 6 Jun: The 14th Foundation Day of Shani Dham was celebrated here, today, with pomp. On this occasion, Hanuman Chalisa was recited along with Shri Ganesh and Navgrah Puja by the temple committee after which Havan Yagya was performed. The idols installed in Shani Dev temple were worshipped and abhishek and shringar of all the idols was done. Purna ahuti and maha aarti took place at 12 p.m., after which a huge bhandara was organised for the general public, in which a large number of people took prasad till late evening.
Member of Mussoorie Shani Dham Temple Committee Satendra Kaur Bedi highlighted the importance of Shani Puja. She said that 14 years ago, the Shani Dev temple was established here and, in 14 years, it has taken a bigger form. The Indo-Tibet Border Police plays a key role in running the temple. It provides water and other materials to the temple. She said that even on the foundation day of Shani Dham, the Force has played an important role and provided basic facilities.
She said that thousands of devotees from Mussoorie and nearby areas come to Shani Dham to receive the blessings of Lord Shani and ask for their wishes which are fulfilled in every situation. On this occasion, Inderjit Singh Bedi, former Municipal Chairman OP Uniyal, Mussoorie Traders Welfare Association President Rajat Agarwal, Treasurer Nagendra Uniyal, Vice President Atul Agarwal, Sunil Jatav, Joginder Kukreja, Shiv Arora, etc., were also present.
