DEHRADUN, 14 Oct: Governor Lt-General Gurmit Singh (Retd), was the Chief Guest at the 18th Uttara Eyecone (Uttara Eyecone2022) program of the Uttarakhand State Ophthalmological Society, organised at the Government Doon Medical College campus. In this program, eye surgery is being done by eye specialist doctors from all over the country. The Governor witnessed live eye surgery.

While addressing this program, he thanked the doctors from all over the country for coming to Uttarakhand and treating the problems related to the eyes of the people. He said that eyes and vision have great importance and sight plays an important role in everyone’s life. If a person does not have vision in life, then he has to depend on others for everything. He said that the problems related to eyes are also increasing day by day and it is necessary to make people aware about the diseases related to eyes, including corneal diseases, cataract and glaucoma, vision loss and blindness, etc., so that people can be more careful. He said that we should also make more and more people aware about eye donation. He congratulated the organisers for the success of this conference.

Society President Dr Harsh Bahadur, Secretary Dr Satanshu Mathur, Advisor VK Oli, Principal and Dean of Government Doon Medical College, Dr Ashutosh Sayana, Dr Vinod Arora, Dr Sushil Arora and expert doctors from all over the country were present on this occasion.
