Dehradun, 9 Jun: Uttaranchal University of Dehradun conducted its first counseling at its campus here today. Students from across the country took admission in various courses of the university. The process was initiated at 7:30 a.m. and continued throughout the day. The university provided transportation facilities to the students and parents from the railway station to the university campus. The registration process began with the arrival of the students. Outstation students were given priority in admission keeping in view their convenience.
The university invited applications in law, management, engineering, mass communication, applied sciences and agriculture courses in which about 1150 students took admission. Domiciled students were given 40% reservation and 30% discount in fees. The counseling process continued till late evening.
Chancellor Jitender Joshi along with his colleagues personally monitored the entire process and thanked the parents as well as students for choosing Uttaranchal University as their preferred academic destination. He also congratulated the faculty and staff of the university for making the event a grand success. Vice Chancellor Prof NK Joshi, Registrar Dr Ajai Singh, Dean, Directors and Principals of constituent colleges and institutes as well as HODs of various departments were also present on the occasion.
