Dehradun, 19 Feb: Two surgeons from Doon (PG) Medical College, Dehradun, have brought laurels to the institution by securing top honours at the ASI (Association of Surgeons of India) National Conference held recently in Agra.
According to Prof Dr Abhay Kumar, heading the Surgery Department at the Doon Medical College, two postgraduate doctors from the Surgery Department have been recognised for their outstanding work at the prestigious conference.
Dr S Siddiq, a third-year postgraduate student in the Surgery Department, won the first prize for his exceptional case study on neurological tumour located between muscles. Meanwhile, Dr Monika secured the second prize for her impactful poster presentation on breast cancer in men, a critical yet often overlooked medical issue.
The achievement of these young surgeons has been widely appreciated by the medical fraternity.
Director of Medical Education, Dr Ashutosh Sayana, along with Prof Dr Geeta Jain, Medical Superintendent Dr RS Bisht, and their mentor Dr Abhay Kumar, have extended their congratulations to both doctors for their exemplary contributions to medical research.
