New Delhi, 11 Dec: Celebrating its Silver Jubilee, the Maulana Mohammed Ali Jauhar Academy organised its Annual Award function at IICC, here.
Awards were given to Prof Najma Akhtar (VC Jamia University), Prof Manoj Jha (MP, Rajya Sabha), Alka Lamba (MLA, Chandni Chowk), Dr Fakhruddin Mohammad (MESCOS, Hyderabad), Prof Altaf Ahmed Azmi (former Vice Chairman, Delhi Urdu Academy), Dr Shabana Nazeer, and Tariq Shamim Tariq (Journalist & Author of Mumbai).
Prof Shahid Mehdi, former VC of JMI University, presided over the programme.
Former Union Minister and MP, Rajya Sabha, Mohsina Kidwai was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Dr S Farooq, who was invited as the Guest of Honour, congratulated the awardees. He recalled Maulana Mohammed Ali Jauhar and said that he was a great freedom fighter. It was a patriotic duty to remember the freedom fighters.
Suhail Anjum conducted the programme and Prof Khwaja M Shahid, President of the Society, welcomed the guests. General Secretary Ahmed Nadeem proposed the Vote of Thanks.
