5-day ‘Learn to Live Together Camp’ begins for children in Doon

Dehradun, 19 May: Saurabh Thapliyal and Dr S Farooq inaugurated a five-day state-level ‘Learn to Live Together’ Camp-2025 under the aegis of Uttarakhand State Child Welfare Council, here, today.

The programme was inaugurated by special guest Dr S Farooq and former IG SS Kothiyal by lighting the lamp with Saraswati Vandana. On this occasion, Chief Guest Saurabh Thapliyal recalled his memories from childhood to student life. Giving the children inspiration to move forward, he said that children should set their own goals and for that first a healthy foundation has to be laid. “You have to make the environment around you a good companion. Keep moving forward with the continuity of studies and a sense of confidence,” he asserted. Thapliyal called upon the escorting teachers to become active participants in this noble cause.

Secretary General Pushpa Manas briefed the campers about the objectives and activities of the Council. Children from different districts presented traditional folk songs and folk dances of their respective areas. While conducting the camp, Joint Secretary Kamleshwar Prasad Bhatt said that this year all the districts of the state have registered their presence in the camps. A total of 109 campers including 30 boys, 54 girls and 25 escorting teachers are participating in the camp.

Special guest Dr S Farooq enthralled the children with his poetry. Dr Farooq also advocated paying special attention to cleanliness. He instructed all the children to stay alert while avoiding the heat. Beverages and other medicinal products were also provided to all the children.

Former IG SS Kothiyal told the children to shape their future by staying disciplined.

Senior Vice President of the Parishad, Jagdish Babla asked the children to pay special attention to cleanliness.

General Secretary Pushpa Manas said that through this camp, which will be held from 19 to 23 May at the Bal Bhawan of the Council, the needy and underprivileged of the state will be benefited. Children can stay away from the family lifestyle and exchange local dialects and customs with mutual brotherhood and cultural culture of the state. They will also give a message to keep the heritage alive.

During this period, daily yoga program, folk songs and folk dances in regional languages, traditional sports, essay and general knowledge competition for writing aptitude as well as stress counseling has also been arranged for children by subject experts.

The children coming from rural areas will visit the major historical heritage such as the IMA, FRI and other places. An excursion will be organised, as well as a meeting of children with famous personalities.

Principal, Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sunita Bhatt gave information to the children about child sexual abuse and good touch-bad touch. Tips were also given so that children could integrate scientific activities in modern education.

Senior scientist VK Doval gave a lecture on Vedic mathematics and created interest in mathematics among the children. Doval also gave simplification solutions to complex questions and gave practice to the children. The children solved many questions in a jiffy.

General Secretary Pushpa Manas, Senior Vice President Jagdish Babla, Vice President Madhu Beri, Joint Secretary Kamleshwar Prasad Bhatt, Treasurer Asha were present at the camp along with former General Secretary VK Doval, Life Member Advocate KP Kala, Yoga Instructor Anand Singh Rawat, Member KP Sati, Kusum Kuthari, Dr Kusum, teachers from all the districts including Rani Naithani, Kavita Dutta, Baby Rani Jha, Bhupendra Chaudhary, Thatt Singh, Yogambar Singh Rawat, Manjit Singh.
