Dehradun, 24 Aug: A five-day virtual colloquium to discuss the socio-legal dimensions of Covid-19 began in Graphic Era Hill University, here, today. Legal experts from prominent law institutes and the Supreme Court will be participating in the colloquium, organised by the School of Law of the university.
Vice-Chancellor, Graphic Era Hill University, Dr Sanjay Jasola inaugurated the virtual colloquium titled, “Changing socio-legal dynamics and state responsibility amid Covid 19”, today. On the first day of the colloquium, a Professor from the Rajeev Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, IIT, Kharagpur, Dr Uday Shankar, delivered a talk on ‘Constitutional obligations of the welfare state during pandemic’.
Tomorrow, a Professor from the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, Dr Anurag Deep will speak on ‘Right to better healthcare access and COVID-19’. On the third day, a Supreme Court lawyer, Abhinav Shrivastava, will speak on ‘Access to court and COVID-19’. This will be followed by a lecture on ‘Corporate responsibility in the pandemic times’ by a Professor from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, Ankit Awasthi on the fourth day of the colloquium.
Head, School of Law, Graphic Era Hill University, Dr BS Yadav will deliver the closing remarks on the five-day talk on the last day of the colloquium on 28 August.
