92 percent SIR digitisation achieved so far in U’khand: CEO Purushottam

Dehradun, 29 Jun: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Uttarakhand Dr BVRC Purushottam today reviewed the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign through a video conference with District Magistrates of all districts and directed the officials to complete the digitisation of forms at the earliest. He also instructed that the voters marked under the ‘uncollectable’ category should be verified once again to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll.

During the review meeting, Purushottam stressed that the districts where the digitisation process has been almost completed should immediately begin preparations for the reorganisation of polling stations. He further directed all the District Election Officers (DEOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to personally undertake booth-wise scrutiny of the Absentee, Shifted and Dead (ASD) list to ensure the accuracy of the electoral database.

During the meeting, the officials shared that more than 99 per cent of enumeration forms have been distributed across the state, while over 92 per cent of the digitisation work has already been completed under the SIR exercise. It was stated that Almora and Champawat districts have completed 100 per cent digitisation of the enumeration forms. Bageshwar and Pithoragarh have achieved 97 per cent digitisation, followed by Tehri Garhwal at 96 per cent, Uttarkashi at 95 per cent, Chamoli and Pauri Garhwal at 94 per cent each, Rudraprayag at 93 per cent, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar at 91 per cent each.

At the same time, Dehradun and Haridwar have each completed 88 per cent of the digitisation work so far.

Expressing satisfaction over the progress achieved till now, Purushottam congratulated all the districts for their performance and urged them to maintain the pace so that the remaining work could be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

Among those present at the meeting were Joint Chief Electoral Officer Prakash Chandra Dumka, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Kishan Singh Negi, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Mastu Das, besides the District Magistrates who are also the District Electoral Officers and the Electoral Registration Officers from all the districts.
