Dehradun, 15 Apr: Fifty “SWIFT Schools” will be established across the state by the School Education Department. For this purpose, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Education Department and ConveGenius Foundation. Under this initiative, modern technology-enabled digital infrastructure will be developed in these schools to ensure the holistic development of students. Additionally, ConveGenius Foundation, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services, will distribute 1000 laptops to students. The department has already selected the schools for this initiative and has instructed officials to ensure the early operationalisation of SWIFT Schools.
State School Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat stated today that the government is continuously working to make the education system technology-driven in line with the provisions of the National Education Policy 2020. In this direction, a significant MoU has been signed between Samagra Shiksha and ConveGenius Foundation, under which 50 SWIFT Schools will be established across the state.
Dr Rawat explained that the SWIFT School model is an integrated school transformation model that includes personalised learning, the use of modern technology in classrooms, data-driven support for teachers, and the development of digital infrastructure. This will help provide education according to the learning levels of students and enable teachers to deliver more effective instruction using data insights.
Through the use of technology, learning gaps among students will be identified in a timely manner, and necessary academic support will be provided. The Minister also noted that ConveGenius Foundation is playing a key role in promoting CSR-based education in the state. As part of this initiative, the Foundation, with support from Amazon Web Services, will distribute 1000 laptops to strengthen the implementation of SWIFT Schools.
He further stated that 50 schools have been selected across the state for the operation of SWIFT Schools, including 19 schools each in Pauri and Champawat districts, and 6 schools each in Dehradun and Haridwar districts. Instructions have been issued to departmental officials to ensure the swift commencement of these schools so that students can benefit from technology-enabled quality education at the earliest.
