St. George’s College hosts Proficiency Awards ceremony

DEHRADUN, 27 Apr: The Proficiency Award Ceremony was held at St George’s College on Monday. An accomplished officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) Ashish Tripathi was the chief guest.
The chief guest conferred the Proficiency Awards for the Academic Year 2025 upon students of Classes 4 to 12. Awards were presented for first, second and third academic positions, along with the Co-Curricular Award and the Most Outstanding Student Award for each class.
In his address, Ashish Tripathi described his visit to St. George’s as a dream come true. He congratulated the students, parents and teachers and made special mention of the grandparents who had travelled from near and far to attend the ceremony. He emphasized that the achievements of the students were a result of the dedicated guidance of their teachers and noted that institutions like St. George’s College provide a strong platform for holistic development.
Principal of the school Brother Jeyaseelan S., presented a memento to the chief guest in appreciation of his presence. In his address, he congratulated the award winners and expressed gratitude to the parents and staff. He remarked that success is not merely an event but a habit and underscored the importance of gratitude towards parents and teachers. He encouraged students to build strong character and strive to become compassionate and responsible individuals.
The programme commenced with a prayer offered by Himani Joshi Kumai, followed by a formal welcome and introduction of the chief guest by Ashima Bhatt. This was succeeded by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the chief guest. Principal, Brother Jeyaseelan S.; the Vice-Principal, Brother Felix Kumar; Brother Kannedy; the School Coordinators; the grandfather of Shanay Agarwal of Class 5; the Head Prefect, Sanath Joshi; and the School Prefect, Ansh Varshney. The School Choir then presented a melodious Song of Welcome.
The Proficiency Award Ceremony was successfully conducted under the supervision of Brother Jeyaseelan S. (Principal), Brother Felix Kumar (Vice-Principal), Brother Britto (Superior), Veronica Menezes (Junior School Coordinator), Deepali Ballabh (Cultural Coordinator), Mark Gonsalves (Senior School Coordinator) and Bhavnesh Negi.
