Abhivyanjana 5.0’ Literary Conclave held in Kaladhungi

KALADUNGI/HALDWANI, 6 Jun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday inaugurated the fifth edition of Lalit Foundation’s literary conclave “Abhivyanjana 5.0” by lighting the ceremonial lamp at Namaste Corbett Resort in Dhanpur Dhamola under Kaladungi tehsil.
Addressing the gathering, Dhami asserted that this event is not merely a poets’ conference but an innovative opportunity to experience ideas, emotions and creativity. He observed that poets are not merely creators of words but also thinkers, guides and inspirations for the society, as their writings serve as a mirror to social realities. He said that whenever society finds itself surrounded by challenges and uncertainties, the poets use the power of their pen not only to show a new direction but also to bring about positive transformation.

The CM stated that history bears testimony to the fact that India’s freedom movement gained momentum when the poets and litterateurs inspired citizens through their writings to participate actively in the struggle for Independence. He observed that a distinguished assembly of patriotic and accomplished poets is present at the event, whose voices reflect a blend of longing and love, rebellion and patriotism, humour and devotion.
Referring to noted poet Kumar Vishwas, Dhami said he has given poetry a new identity through his writings and distinctive style of presentation. He said the works of Padma Shri Ashok Chakradhar represents a remarkable confluence of humour, satire and social concern, while the powerful poetry of Hariom Panwar remains a a very strong expression of patriotism and public awareness, inspiring and energising audiences across generations.
Dhami said all the poets present here have played a significant role in taking poetry beyond exclusive literary platforms and making it accessible to the masses. He noted that they had also made commendable efforts to connect young people with literature and creative expression.
The CM also asserted that Uttarakhand had for centuries been a land of literature, culture and creativity. Nestled in the lap of the Himalayas, the sacred state has produced numerous litterateurs, poets and public intellectuals who have guided society through their writings. Citing examples, he referred to the nature-inspired literary legacy of Sumitranandan Pant, the poetic consciousness of Chandrakunwar Bartwal, the socially relevant writings of Girda, the vivid depiction of Uttarakhand’s folk life by Shailesh Matiyani, the literary contribution of Gaura Pant ‘Shivani’, and Mohan Upreti’s remarkable efforts towards preserving folk culture.
Dhami also noted that that Devbhoomi has consistently attracted literature lovers from across India and abroad through its rich literary consciousness and creative traditions. According to him, Uttarakhand’s literary heritage continues to inspire the younger generation to remain connected with its roots while contributing to nation-building.
During the programme, the CM also honoured poets, women poets and litterateurs who have been carrying out inspirational work in the fields of literature and social service. He said the recognition was not merely an honour for individuals but a tribute to ideas and efforts that bring positive change in society. He congratulated all those who were honoured for their outstanding contributions.
The CM further said that many renowned poets present at the event possess a rare ability to transform poetry from mere lines into a powerful voice of inspiration and social change. He called upon participants to take the literary movement forward with renewed consciousness, fresh energy and a spirit of unwavering commitment under the motto of “Vikalp Rahit Sankalp”. Earlier, Dhami welcomed the poets and litterateurs on their arrival in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.
Among those present on the occasion were Kaladungi MLA Banshidhar Bhagat, Kumar Vishwas, Padma Shri Ashok Chakradhar, Hariom Panwar and poets and litterateurs from various parts of the country.
Earlier in the day, upon his arrival at IRB Belpadav in Ramnagar, he was welcomed by Banshidhar Bhagat, BJP district president Pratap Bisht, vice-president Ganesh Rawat, Lal Batti holders Suresh Bhatt, Shankar Koranga, Surendra Namdhari and Hukum Singh Kunwar, Commission member ZA Warsi, Divisional Commissioner Deepak Rawat, District Magistrate Lalit Mohan Rayal, SSP Dr Manjunath TC, Chief Development Officer Arvind Kumar Pandey and several public representatives and prominent citizens, who presented bouquets and extended their greetings.
