Dehradun, 9 Jun: Doon Library and Research Centre organised a special literary discussion on ‘Echoes of My Heart’, the latest work by renowned author Harjit Lally, on Tuesday evening. The event witnessed the participation of several writers, literary figures, academicians, and distinguished members of the literary, cultural, and educational communities.
The keynote speaker, Dr Sanjeev Chopra, Director, Valley of Words, remarked that Echoes of My Heart is not merely a collection of love poems but a profound journey through human emotions, memories, and spiritual experiences. He noted that the book beautifully captures themes of love, separation, longing, devotion, and spiritual realisation. Such works, he said, provide readers with an opportunity to engage in a deeper dialogue with their inner selves.

Guest of Honour Karan Sinha stated that Harjit Lally’s writing is marked by emotional authenticity and warmth. Her works, he observed, naturally bring forth the depth of human relationships and the richness of life’s diverse experiences.
The discussant, Ratna Manucha, presented a detailed review of the book, describing it as a work that encompasses the many shades of love, memory, anticipation, and human relationships. She particularly highlighted the emotional depth of the poems and short stories, the expression of women’s experiences, and the portrayal of spiritual connectedness. According to her, the book possesses the rare ability to touch readers at a deeply personal level.
In her address, Harjit Lally shared that Echoes of My Heart is the outcome of her long creative journey. The collection of poems and short stories explores themes of love, union, separation, memories, spirituality, and the subtle emotions of life. She described the book as a document of feelings that do not fade with time but continue to live on in new forms.

The literary event organised by Doon Library and Research Centre proved to be a meaningful celebration of literature, sensitivity, and creativity. Today’s event was attended by numerous writers, litterateurs, and other distinguished citizens of the city, including Vandana Shiva, Chandrashekhar Tewari, Alok B Lal, Colonel VK Duggal, Dr Lalta Prasad, Sundar Singh Bisht, Himanshu Ahuja, Alok Kumar, Dwijendra Bahuguna, Satpal Gandhi, Narendra Singh, and Manoj Panjani.
