Skill Development Scheme opens doors for U’khand youth in Europe

Dehradun, 24 Jun: Sapna Rana, who has secured a well-paid job in Germany following the completion of a state sponsored course in German language, called on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s residence here today. Sapna Rana successfully completed German language training under the Chief Minister’s Skill Upgradation and Global Employment Scheme and cleared the language examination recently, following which she secured appointment at Schon Klinik Hospital in Hamburg, Germany, with a monthly salary of Euro 3060 (Rs 3,30,000).
Speaking on the occasion, the CM observed that under the scheme the Foreign Employment Cell constituted within the Department of Skill Development and Employment is making continuous efforts to connect the youth of the state with international employment opportunities. At present, the cell is providing language training to enable placements in Japan and Germany. So far, nearly 65 youths have been placed in Japan.
Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bahuguna stated that there are employment opportunities for the youths in the nursing sector in Germany, for which German language training is being conducted by the cell. After completing this training, nursing graduate Sapna Rana from Tehri Garhwal has been selected as a nurse in Germany. She completed her schooling at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pokhal, Tehri Garhwal, and pursued nursing education at the State Nursing College, Dehradun. Through the German language training under the Chief Minister’s Skill Upgradation and Global Employment Scheme, she has now secured placement at Schon Klinik Hospital in Hamburg.
On this occasion, Secretary C Ravishankar was also present.
