Dehradun, 3 Jul: Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande held a detailed meeting with representatives of recognised national political parties at the Secretariat here today in connection with the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Uttarakhand. On this occasion, he appealed to the political parties to extend cooperation in the door‑to‑door verification campaign for voters placed under the ‘uncollected category’. Jogdande stated that the SIR process is being conducted on the basis of 1 July 2026 as the qualifying date, with distribution and digitisation of enumeration forms scheduled between 8 June and 7 July. He said that, out of 79,60,762 voters in the state, forms of 70,98,501 had been digitised, while 8,39,486 voters were listed under the ‘uncollected category’. This includes 1,23,836 deceased voters, 4,77,148 permanently shifted, 61,764 already registered elsewhere, 1,68,259 absent and 8,479 under other reasons, making a total of 79,45,658 digitised voters.
Jogdande stated that the draft roll would be published on 14 July 2026, while the claims and objections can be filed between 14 July and 13 August. Notices and disposal of claims and objections would continue until 11 September and that the final voter list would be published on 15 September. He urged political parties to ensure one hundred per cent appointment of Booth Level Agents to strengthen the verification process. He noted that against 11,733 polling booths in Uttarakhand, political parties had so far appointed 23,102 BLAs.
Among those present at the meeting were Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Kishan Singh Negi, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Mastu Das and representatives from BJP including Rajkumar Purohit, Congress being represented by Amrendra Bisht, Aam Aadmi Party by Shyam Babu Pandey, BSP by Satyapal and CPI(M) by Anant Akash.
