Dehradun, 12 Jul: BJP’s National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today called upon the party workers in Uttarakhand to focus on every booth and every vote in preparation for the next Assembly elections. Addressing a meeting of the party functionaries in Dehradun today, Chugh asserted that the party must convert the favourable political atmosphere in the State into its biggest electoral victory and make Devbhoomi an impregnable stronghold for the BJP. He also urged party workers to actively participate in the constitutional process relating to the preparation of an error-free electoral roll.
Chugh said the political environment in Uttarakhand is highly favourable for the BJP because of the achievements of the State Government and the hard work of party workers. He said the people of the State want to vote for the BJP and it is now the responsibility of every worker to ensure that every supporter reaches the polling booth and exercised his or her franchise.
He said the BJP has already broken the long-standing political pattern of alternating governments in Uttarakhand through the dedication of its workers and the performance of its governments. The next objective, he said, is to transform Uttarakhand into an impregnable political fortress for the party by securing victory on the highest number of Assembly seats in the State’s history.
Chugh emphasised that party workers should actively participate in the constitutional process relating to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls and contribute towards preparing an error-free voters’ list. He said such participation was in the national interest and beneficial for a nationalist party like the BJP. Referring to electoral performances in Bihar, Assam and West Bengal, he claimed that the BJP had achieved electoral success in states where the process had been effectively implemented. He urged workers to concentrate on every booth and ensure every vote in order to further strengthen the party’s organisational base across Uttarakhand.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called upon the party workers to work with full commitment under the organisational slogan “Jahan Kam, Wahan Hum” and discharge their responsibilities effectively. He said the expectations and directions of the party’s central leadership could be fulfilled only through efficient election management and dedicated organisational work. He urged workers to strive collectively for a decisive victory in the 2027 Assembly elections.
Dhami said strengthening election management required constant improvement in organisational efficiency, with the preparation of an accurate electoral roll forming the first and most important step. He asked party workers to work through the party’s Booth Level Agents (BLA-2) by undertaking door-to-door campaigns, creating awareness among voters and ensuring that all eligible voters complete the prescribed process for inclusion in the electoral rolls.
State BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt said the party’s objective in supporting the preparation of an error-free electoral roll is to ensure that no eligible voter was excluded while no ineligible person remained on the list. He said, as a responsible political party, the BJP had a constitutional duty to extend full cooperation to the authorities engaged in the electoral revision process.
Bhatt said every worker should contribute towards ensuring that all eligible voters were included in the electoral rolls and that ineligible names were removed in accordance with the prescribed procedure. He added that it was the democratic responsibility of all stakeholders to ensure that the Government of Uttarakhand is elected by genuine voters of the State. During the meeting, he also reviewed the organisational responsibilities assigned to party workers and issued necessary directions.
Former MP and Central SIR team member Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, who was present along with Prakash Tanwar, explained the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in detail and outlined the role expected of party workers in extending cooperation during the constitutional exercise. He also guided participants on important organisational aspects of the campaign and responded to queries raised by them.
Among those present at the meeting were Rajya Sabha MPs and BJP National Co-Treasurer Naresh Bansal and Kalpana Saini, State General Secretaries Kundan Parihar, Deepti Rawat and Tarun Bansal, Cabinet Ministers Dhan Singh Rawat, Madan Kaushik, Ganesh Joshi, Khajan Das, Saurabh Bahuguna, Ram Singh Kaira, Bharat Chaudhary and Pradeep Batra, MLAs Munna Singh Chauhan, Vinod Kandari, Prem Chand Aggarwal, Adesh Chauhan, Sahdev Pundir and Brij Bhushan Gairola, besides State office-bearers, district presidents, district in-charges, co-in-charges, Booth Level Agents (BLA-1) and former Assembly candidates.
