Rishikesh, 14 Jul: THDC India Limited commemorated its 39th Foundation Day at its Corporate Office, Rishikesh, and across all Projects and Unit offices nationwide. The occasion reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to operational excellence, innovation, sustainable development and its continued contribution to India’s energy security.
The celebrations commenced with the THDCIL Flag Hoisting Ceremony by Sipan Kumar Garg, Managing Director, THDCIL. Addressing the gathering, Garg reflected on THDCIL’s remarkable journey since its inception and acknowledged the dedication and collective efforts of its employees in shaping the company into one of India’s leading power sector enterprises. He emphasised that the Foundation Day is not only a celebration of achievements but also an opportunity to reaffirm THDCIL’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence and sustainable growth.
Highlighting the Company’s recent achievements, Garg lauded the dedicated efforts of each and every employee of THDCIL for their contribution towards a remarkable year of growth and accomplishment. He stated that the Company’s total installed capacity has now reached 3,907 MW, with the recent commissioning of the 1000 MW Tehri Variable Speed Pumped Storage Plant and the 1320 MW Khurja Super Thermal Power Project marking significant milestones in THDCIL’s growth journey.
The CMD added that the Company’s exemplary performance and remarkable achievements are a reflection of the collective dedication, commitment and relentless efforts of all employees of THDCIL. He emphasised that THDCIL is poised to play a pivotal role in India’s growth journey by emerging as a leading force in the Pumped Storage sector and strengthening the nation’s energy security.
The Foundation Day celebrations also provided an opportunity to recognise excellence across the organisation. Employees were felicitated under various award categories, including the Meritorious Awards, Suggestion Mela Awards, Innovation Awards, Swift Decision-Making Awards, Best Employee, Gaurav Awards and the Naman Award, in recognition of their outstanding performance, innovation and dedicated service. The Naman Award was conferred on J Behera, Former Director (Finance), THDC India Limited, in recognition of his distinguished leadership and invaluable contribution towards strengthening the Company’s financial framework and institutional growth.
LP Joshi, CTO, THDCIL, Kumar Sharad, ED (Projects), Dr AN Tripathy, CGM (HR-Admin, CC) and other senior officers were also present during the ceremony at Rishikesh.
