Vriddh Jageshwar is among India’s ancient Shiva shrines: Dhami

Almora, 16 Jul: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today visited Vriddh Jageshwar temple and performed rituals with Vedic chanting at the sacred shrine of Lord Shiva. On the occasion, he also prayed for the prosperity, good health and happiness of the people of Uttarakhand and sought blessings for the continuous progress and welfare of the state. He also distributed prasad to young girls at the temple premises.

Extending greetings to the people on the occasion of Harela festival, the CM observed that Vriddh Jageshwar is one of the country’s more prominent and ancient Shiva shrines and that it is renowned across India for its spiritual and cultural heritage. He stated that the state government is consistently working for the preservation and promotion of Uttarakhand’s religious and cultural legacy. He added that the government is also undertaking various development works to provide better facilities to devotees at pilgrimage centres and to boost religious tourism.

After the prayers, Dhami also inspected the temple premises, reviewed the arrangements and sought details from the officials regarding the facilities, safety and basic amenities for pilgrims. He directed that the visitors to Vriddh Jageshwar temple should not face any inconvenience and that all the necessary arrangements must be ensured in a timely and organised manner.

Among those present on the occasion included MLA Jageshwar Mohan Singh Mahra, Lal Batti holder Kundan Latwal, District Panchayat Member and BJP District President Mahesh Nayal, DM Anshul Singh, SSP Chandrashekhar R Ghodke, along with many public representatives, administrative officers, members of the temple committee and other dignitaries.
