Dehradun, July 17: Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) was paid a courtesy call by Dr Surjit Singh Gandhi, Chairman of the Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority, along with members of the Authority, at the Lok Bhavan on Thursday.
During the meeting, Dr Gandhi briefed the Governor on the Authority’s initiatives and ongoing efforts to promote minority education in the state. He highlighted measures aimed at expanding access to education, strengthening educational institutions, and supporting the overall development of students.
The Governor appreciated the Authority’s work, stating that education is a vital foundation for social inclusion and empowerment. He stressed the need for coordinated efforts by all stakeholders to strengthen a quality and accessible education system.
Expressing confidence in the Authority’s future work, the Governor said he hoped it would continue to make a positive contribution to the state’s education sector and play an important role in making educational opportunities more accessible to all sections of society.
Members present at the meeting included Prof (Dr) Rakesh Kumar Jain, Dr Syed Ali Hameed, Prof Prema Tenzin, Prof Gurmit Singh, Dr Alba Mandrele, Chandrashekhar Bhatt, Rajendra Bisht, and Special Secretary Parag Madhukar Dhakate.
