Dehradun, 23 Jul: The 7th AGM of Navy Foundation Dehradun Chapter was held on 28 June. Apart from other points discussed at the AGM, having completed their time as the Management Committee (MC), it was decided to elect a new Management Committee. The new MC was duly elected by the members.

At an event on 6 July, the handing/taking over between the MC members took place at NHO Dehradun. The following members have taken over as the office bearers of the new Management Committee: Vice Admiral Vinay Badhwar (Retd) – President; Rear Admiral Mukul Asthana (Retd) – Vice President; Cdr Vipin Sharma (Retd) – Secretary; and Captain RS Rawal (Retd) – Treasurer.

It may be noted in this context that ‘Regional Samanvay’ is a novel initiative taken by the Indian Navy and established as an institutionalised mechanism by creating suitable linkages for mutual interaction between the office-bearers and representatives of the Navy Foundation and Veteran Sailors Forum (VSF), in order to facilitate two-way flow of information, discuss service-related issues of common interest and sharing of Best Practices towards collective good of the entire community.

The maiden Regional Samanvay was hosted by NHO Dehradun on 22 July 2026. The veteran officers and sailors of the Indian Navy discussed issues impacting veterans in Dehradun region. Vice-Admiral Vinay Badhwar, President, NFDNC, senior office bearers, and CRSO(N) addressed queries on ECHS, CSD and NAVPEN. This was followed by lunch. The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation by all.
