Dehradun, 29 Jul: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Dr BVRC Purushottam today held a video conference with all the district magistrates from across the state to conduct a detailed review of notices issued to voters and hearings under the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision campaign. During the meeting, the CEO examined the action plans prepared in each district for the hearing of the notices and he directed the officials to ensure that voters receiving notices are served them in time and are given adequate opportunity for hearing. He instructed all the DMs to appoint nodal officers from the departments such as education, revenue and tehsil to assist the Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers in the verification of documents. He further directed that district magistrates should undertake field visits in their assembly constituencies and carry out regular reviews.
It was informed during the meeting that in all the districts, one hundred per cent printing of notices has been completed and the notices have reached the ERO and BLO levels. Hearings have also commenced.
Among those present at the meeting were Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Kishan Singh Negi, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Mastu Das along with all the district magistrates.
