Dehradun, 29 Jul: According to BJP leader Ravindra Jugran, the Directorate of Education, the District Education Officer, and the Block Education Officer have issued a notice regarding the Primary School and Junior High School located on Chander Road, Dalanwala. The school, which currently has approximately 275 students and 11 teachers, has been directed to shift to another location, citing the National Green Tribunal (NGT) order, as it is situated on the banks of the Rispana River.
Ravindra Jugran said that today he visited the school along with a delegation, where they interacted with teachers, parents, and local residents to understand the issue in detail.
He stated that, while the Legislative Assembly, several government directorates and buildings, numerous illegal multi-storey structures, unauthorised commercial buildings, thousands of residential houses, and a population of nearly one lakh are located within or along the river and its banks, it is neither fair nor logical to single out this school for relocation by citing the NGT order.
Jugran further said that shifting the school in the middle of the academic session, especially during the monsoon season, is neither reasonable nor justified. He added that the delegation will meet the Secretary, Education, and the concerned officials to discuss the matter.
The delegation accompanying Ravindra Jugran included Dr Deepak Joshi, Ravindra Singh Gusain, and local Corporator Kamla Devi.
