Dehradun, 27 Aug: State AYUSH and AYUSH Education Minister Madan Kaushik held a meeting with officials in his office in the Legislative Assembly here, today, to review departmental work.
The Minister stated that medical officers appointed/regulated in 2013 and 2015 who are eligible for ACP will be granted ACP benefits within one month, and officials have been instructed to contact those medical officers who have not received the necessary documents for ACP benefits to obtain these documents.
The Minister stated that the matter regarding granting DACP benefits to medical officers has been forwarded to the Finance Department as directed by the Chief Minister.
The Minister stated that a proposal regarding the reorganisation of the departmental structure has been forwarded to the Member Secretary, Departmental Structure and Pay Disparity, and action on it is underway.
The Minister also stated that a proposal to increase the honorarium of yoga instructors from Rs 250 to Rs 500 per hour has been submitted to the Government of India.
The Minister stated that officials have been directed to ensure the prompt regularisation of medical officers of the 2024 batch, whose probation period ends in March 2026.
The Minister added that the dilapidated Ayurvedic hospital building in Pipalkoti has been vacated and officials have been instructed to rent a new building.
The Minister pointed out that a new building for the Allopathic Department has been constructed in Roorkee. The process for handing over the old Allopathic Department building to the AYUSH Department is underway, enabling the local population to soon benefit from a 15-bed AYUSH hospital.
The Minister stated that correspondence has been made with the relevant District Magistrates regarding land availability for the construction of two Ayurvedic Medical Colleges in the hill districts of the state. Ayurvedic Medical Colleges will be constructed where land availability is assured.
The Minister stated that the construction of a Unani hospital in the Piran Kaliyar area of Haridwar district is currently being hampered due to the land earmarked for the hospital falling within the National Highway area. Correspondence has been made with the regional MLA and District Magistrate to determine where land will be available for the Unani hospital.
He pointed out that the process of recruiting Panchakarma assistants and deploying Yoga and Naturopathy assistants will be completed soon, and instructions have been issued to officials in this regard.
Officials have been directed to proceed with the creation of new positions for Ayurvedic and Unani services and Homeopathic Pharmacy officers. Officials have also been instructed to process the revision of honorariums for the Medical Officers of Community Health (MOCH).
The minister said that administrative approval has been received for the construction/expansion of the Ayurveda Directorate and a letter has been sent to the Director General of Medical and Family Welfare Department for allotment of 2000 square meters of land for the building expansion. At the same time, for the construction/expansion of the industrial shed in Ayurveda Pharmacy Haridwar, the MD of SIDCUL located in Haridwar district has been directed to provide land within the SIDCUL area.
Secretary Rajna Rajguru, Additional Secretary Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Joint Secretary Mahavir Singh, Director RP Singh and other officials from the AYUSH and AYUSH Education Department were present on this occasion.
