Mahendra Bhatt stresses on booth level strategy for polls

Haldwani, 9 Sep: BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt today claimed that the party has already prepared its strategy right up to the booth level and would enter the 2027 Assembly elections with full strength, with the objective of returning to power in Uttarakhand.
Addressing the BJP state executive committee meeting being held in Haldwani, Bhatt said he considers himself fortunate to have been given an opportunity to serve for a second term under the guidance of the party’s national president. He said two important political resolutions passed at the state executive meeting outline the approach and views of the party and added that these have been framed keeping the 2027 Assembly elections in mind.
Bhatt said the BJP had performed strongly in the recent local body elections, securing what he described as an emphatic victory in all 11 municipal corporations as well as in six districts in the cooperative sector. He said the party had already worked out its strategy up to the booth level and would contest the 2027 elections with full preparedness.
Rawat also referred to the relief material sent from Gujarat during a disaster and alleged that some of the relief material had subsequently been taken away by officials. He, however, said the BJP would remain focused on strengthening its organisation and winning booths, stressing that the party was essentially a cadre- and worker-based organisation.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said the BJP state executive meeting is an important exercise in introspection and is being held under the guidance of the party’s national leadership. He said the party would go before the people with a report card of its development work and seek their support in the 2027 Assembly elections.
Dhami also highlighted the development initiatives undertaken under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said the country has moved from a phase of disappointment before 2014 to the emergence of a new India. He also referred to action taken by his government against what he termed land jihad and spitting jihad.
The Chief Minister claimed that more than 13,000 acres of land has been freed from encroachment as part of the government’s drive against illegal occupation. He said the BJP would approach the electorate with its development report card and seek a fresh mandate on the basis of its performance.
Dhami also accused the Congress of pursuing politics of appeasement and said the BJP‘s focus remained on development, good governance and implementation of its commitments. The leaders reiterated that strengthening the organisation from the state level to individual booths would remain the party’s principal focus as it prepares for the 2027 Assembly elections.
BJP national media convenor and Garhwal MP Anil Baluni said the party would be creating history in Uttarakhand by winning the third consecutive Assembly election with full determination. He claimed that the BJP government has not undertaken any work that may have made people unhappy with the party.
Highlighting the development achieved in the state, Baluni said the journey between Delhi and Dehradun, which used to take around seven hours after the creation of Uttarakhand, can now be completed in about two-and-a-half hours. He said the BJP would form the government with a clear majority and usher in what he described as a golden era in Uttarakhand.
BJP national vice-president and former chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat said the party would reach every booth under the guidance of its national leadership and return to power in the 2027 Assembly elections. He stressed the importance of strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level, saying that winning the booths would be crucial to winning the election.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development model, Rawat said former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had played a historic role in the creation of Uttarakhand, while Modi is working to strengthen and develop the state further. He referred to the construction of roads up to Dharchula and the Prime Minister’s presence in the state during disasters as examples of the Centre’s commitment towards Uttarakhand.
