Property dealer arrested for circulating forged pic of SSP Doon

Dehradun, 19 Sep: Amit Singh, the property dealer who has been accused of circulating and promoting an allegedly forged photo of Dehradun SSP Ajai Singh in the newspaper for his personal business gain, has now been arrested by the police.
It may be recalled that a case was earlier registered against Amit Singh, son of Ramprakash Singh, and resident of Old Nehru Colony in Dehradun with the Nehru Colony Police Station.
The Nehru Colony Police has served two non-bailable warrants issued by the Court of Judicial Magistrate First, Dehradun, on the main accused. He has been arrested under section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act.
According to the Dehradun SSP’s office, the photo of Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehradun, was fraudulently circulated in newspapers through advertisements by accused Amit Singh for his personal business interests, claiming proximity with the Police Officer. After the matter came to light, a case in this regard was registered against the accused in Nehru Colony police station. The Police have claimed that the property dealer also has several cases of fraud registered against him and that he is a history sheeter. Cases are also registered against the accused in Raipur and Rajpur police stations. In both these cases, also, strict action is being taken against the accused, claimed the Police.
