Former Panchjanya Editor addresses journos on Hindi Journalism Day

Dehradun, 30 May: Senior columnist and former Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Vijay has called upon the journalists to work in line with the public sentiments and also to mull upon what to write, for whom to write and why to write.
Tarun Vijay was expressing his views in a seminar organised by Uttarakhand Patrakar Mahasangh on the topic of challenges and solutions of journalism in the current context on Hindi Journalism Day at IRDT auditorium in Dehradun today. The former editor of Panchjanya, a leading publication with links to the RSS, also asserted that as long as there is life, there are challenges. The lifeless do not have any challenges before them. Challenge before the journalism indicates that it has life. He said that there has always been a challenge for a journalist who worships truth.
There is no challenge for those who write for power, but amidst all this, journalists should fulfil their responsibility by connecting with public sentiments. Those who write by connecting with public sentiments have credibility in the society, which is very necessary for journalism.
On this occasion, the Mahasangh also honoured the guests by presenting them with mementoes and shawls.
The newly elected executive committee of the Mahasangh of Dehradun district was also sworn in during the programme. Apart from this, journalists Anupam Trivedi, Jyotsna Baunthiyal, Chandra Shekhar Budakoti, Kedar Dutt, Rakesh Khanduri, Rajesh Bahuguna, Naresh Rohila, Subhash Kumar who have done excellent work in the field of journalism were honoured with Patrakar Gaurav Samman.
On this occasion, special guest senior journalist and former principal of DAV College Dr Devendra Bhasin, senior journalist Ram Pratap Mishra Saketi, Ravindra Nath Kaushik were also present.
The programme was conducted by national poet and head of Sanskrit department in DAV College Dr Ram Vinay Singh. In the end, the central president of Uttarakhand Patrakar Mahasangh Nishith Saklani, who was presiding over the programme, thanked all the guests.
