‘Sahityotsav Jashn-e-Adab Cultural Kaarva’n Virasat’ to be held in Doon on 28-29 June

Dehradun, 27 Jun: ‘Sahityotsav Jashn-e-Adab Cultural Kaarva’n Virasat’, a Hindustani art, culture and literature event, is being organised in Dehradun for the first time on 28-29 June from 2 p.m. onwards at the Cultural Department Auditorium, Haridwar Bypass Road, Vidhan Sabha Colony. This cultural extravaganza is being organised in association with Ministry of Culture (GoI) and Ministry of Tourism (GoI).

Entry is free for all.

Stalwarts such as Padma Bhushan awardee Pt Sajan Mishra, Padma Shri awardee Surendra Sharma (grandfather of comedy and poet), Pt Swaransh Mishra, Panchayat fame actor Faisal Malik, Qawwal Sarfaraz Anwar Sabri, Ghazal Gayak Sanawar Ali Khan and Sufi Singer Rajeev Singh will be performing. Internationally acclaimed and popular contemporary poets from across the country such as Kunwar Ranjeet Chauhan, Azm Shakiri, Shariq Kaifi, Shahid Anjum, Ashwani Kumar Chand, Col Gautam Rajrishi and Ramayan Dhar Dwivedi will also be a part of the event.

On 28 June, the programme will commence with melodious Ghazal singing by Sanawar Ali Khan, followed by the Dastangoi (unique Urdu story telling) by Syed Sahil Agha. A panel discussion on a critical topic ‘Kinner Samudaye ki Chunautiyan’ featuring renowned author Dr Mahendra Bhishm with Dr Juhi Garg promises to engage the audience. Mehfil-e-Mushaira is a must attend session with supremely talented poets namely Shariq Kaifi, Azm Shakiri, Bilal Saharanpuri, Col Gautam Rajrishi, Moien Shahdab and Kunwar Ranjeet Chauhan reciting their creations.

The last performance of the day will be powerful Qawwali by the immensely popular Sarfaraz Anwar Sabri.

On 29 June, there will be mesmerising Sufi Singing by Rajeev Singh and group from Bhopal. OTT series Panchayat fame actor Faisal Malik known for his wit and humour will be sharing insights in a panel discussion ‘OTT ke Vibhin Rang’.

The auditorium will be filled with music and dance with Mehfil-e-Raqs by Kathat exponent Richa Jain and her group. The most sought- after performance will be classical singing ‘Sur Sadhna’ by legendary Pt Sajan Mishra with Pt Swaransh Mishra.

The programme will come to an end with a Kavi Sammelan and Mushaira featuring the legendary Padma Shri awardee Surendra Sharma, Ashwini Kumar Chand, Dan Bahadur, Abhishek Tiwari, Dr Sunil Pawar, Javed Mushiri, Ranjan Nigam, Kunwar Ranjeet Chauhan, and Ramayan Dhar Dwivedi.

Sahityotsav Jashn-e-Adab Cultural Kaarva’n Virasat has been organised across many states and UTs – Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Bihar, Gujarat and, Jammu & Kashmir and will be progressing to many more states and union territories.
