Dehradun, 30 Oct: The Health and Family Welfare Department will soon fill 276 vacant positions of medical officers. A proposal has been sent to the State Medical Service Selection Board for these recruitments. This process will address the shortage of doctors in the state and provide better healthcare services locally in mountainous and remote areas.
Health and Medical Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat stated today that the state government’s aim is to resolve the shortage of doctors and provide better medical facilities at the local level. With this objective, the government has decided to fill the long-vacant backlog positions in the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Dr Rawat mentioned that this recruitment will alleviate the shortage of doctors across the state, allowing regular doctors to provide better treatment locally. He emphasised that the government is focused on ensuring that patients in government hospitals face no difficulties. A monitoring system is being developed to ensure the availability of medicines and quality treatment for patients. There will also be strict oversight on the presence of doctors and paramedical staff. The government is committed to ensuring that various health schemes run by the central and state governments are easily accessible to the public.
7 additional Faculty Members approved for Doon Medical College

DEHRADUN, 30 Oct: The state government has approved the appointment of seven additional faculty members at the Government Doon Medical College. These faculty members were selected through a walk-in interview chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University.
The selection includes two Associate Professors and five Assistant Professors, appointed on a contractual basis.
Dr Priyanka Dobhal and Dr Pallavi Pandey have been appointed as Associate Professors in the Community Medicine and Dentistry departments, respectively. Assistant Professors appointed include Dr Shivang Patwal and Dr Manish Kumar in Microbiology, Dr Arshi Khan in Pathology, Dr Juhi Chaudhary in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Dr Amit Kumar in Neurosurgery. The addition of new faculty will enhance academic activities at the medical college and improve patient care at the teaching hospital.
