International Conference on Pollution begins today at GEU

Dehradun, 8 Nov: Top scientists of the world will discuss new technologies to deal with the burning issue of reducing environmental pollution, tomorrow. For this, an international conference on the topic IC Engines, Propulsion and Combustion will be organised at Graphic Era Deemed University.
Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions Dr Kamal Ghanshala, while sharing details of the conference with the journalists, today, said that the Secretary, Department of Space and Chairman of ISRO Dr S Somnath, and Missile Scientist, Member of the Niti Aayog and Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University Dr VK Saraswat will grace this conference with their presence.
Dr Ghanshala said that the country is emerging as a big power through its space missions. A lot of fuel is burned during the launch of missiles and rockets, similarly a lot of pollution is caused by vehicles. In this significant conference, scientists from all across the globe will discuss technologies related to green fuel, hydrogen, methanol and other gases with less carbon emission.
Dr Ghanshala added that, in this international conference, scientists will discuss various topics such as bio-fuels production and utilisation, hybrid electric vehicles, software control engine, hydrogen fuelled IC engines, gas turbines and rocket engine combustion, spray combustion, supersonic combustion and optical diagnostics for IC engines.
In the conference, scientists will present more than 120 research papers on these topics. Dr Ugur Guven from United Nations, Prof Zhang Huangei from Singapore, Prof Ming- Sun Wu from Taiwan, Dr Prakhar Jindal from Netherlands, Dr Ashish Vashishtha from Ireland, Dr Santanu Chaudhury from Chicago and Dr Narayanaswamy Venkateswaran from the US will also participate in the conference. CEO and Managing Director of Dastur Energy, Atanu Mukherjee, Secretary of Combustion Institute, Indian Section, PK Pandey along with many top scientists of the world will also be present.
Organising Secretary of the international conference, Dr Sudhir Joshi gave details about technical sessions of the conference. The International Conference will take place in Graphic Era’s Silver Jubilee Convention Centre. On the first day of this 3-day international conference, scientists will discuss Artificial Intelligence for insightful integration of combustion modelling and experiment, energy solutions with new methods for energy renaissance, etc. On 10 and 11 November, special sessions will be organised. These will include topics such as extinction and flammability limit of ammonia, hydrogen blends on 10 November and green propulsion and detonation wave operations on 11 November.
This international conference is being organized by Graphic Era Deemed University and Graphic Era Hill University under the aegis of Combustion Institute, Indian Section.
On this occasion, Pro Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University Prof Rakesh Kumar Sharma and Vice Chancellor Dr Narpinder Singh were also present.
