Academic Achievements celebrated at 4th Convocation Ceremony of Quantum University

ROORKEE, 2 Dec: Quantum University celebrated the academic achievements of its meritorious students during its fourth convocation ceremony held on 30 November. Degrees were conferred upon more than 800 students across various academic programmes.
The Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) was the Chief Guest. Also present was the state Education Minister, Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, as the Guest of Honor. Both praised the university’s significant contributions and efforts in the field of education.
The ceremony began with a tribute to the martyrs of Uttarakhand, followed by soulful performances of the national anthem and patriotic songs by the university’s Q-Encore Club. A major highlight was awarding of the first-ever PhDs in Management and Computer Science & Engineering, with six doctoral degrees conferred, marking a milestone for the institution.
The Governor in his speech mentioned that today’s youth are highly energetic. He urged them to contribute to, both, their personal and the nation’s development with this energy, thereby fulfilling the dreams of the nation, society, and family. He noted that the present time is that of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics, and alongside these modern technologies, cultural heritage should also be preserved and promoted. Observing the higher number of female medallists, the Governor regarded it as a positive example of women empowerment. He highlighted that women are continuously progressing and contributing immensely to the nation’s development.
Lt Gen Singh also acknowledged the university’s special arrangements for advancing in the field of Artificial Intelligence, which is a significant step for the students. He encouraged the students to become job creators rather than job seekers and said that one must establish their identity beyond books and theoretical knowledge. He urged the students to dream big and focus on realising their dreams. Further, the Governor emphasised the importance of focusing on specialisation with enthusiasm and advised the students to stay away from substance abuse and drugs.
The Governor concluded by stating that learning is a continuous process, and one must keep upgrading one’s communication skills throughout life. He wished all the students a bright future and urged them to live up to the hopes and aspirations of their mentors and parents.
Fifteen students were awarded gold medals, 12 with silver medals, and 10 with bronze medals, reflecting the university’s commitment to academic excellence and the hard work of its students on the occasion.
The prestigious President’s Medal was awarded to Anand Raj, a BTech-CSE student, for his academic brilliance, leadership, and consistent achievements in extracurricular activities. Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Vivek Kumar highlighted the university’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and encouraged the graduates to contribute positively to society. He urged students to utilise their knowledge for the betterment of the nation and the community.
The convocation ceremony witnessed the presence of Quantum University’s founding chairman, Shyam Sundar Goel; Shyam Lal Garg; President Ajay Goel; members of the Board of Governors, Preet Garg, Anil Goel, and Naresh Garg; Maj Gen Sanjay Sharma; Shobhit Goel; Shanky Garg; and MLA from Bhagwanpur, Mamta Rakesh. Additionally, Registrar Dr Amit Dixit, Director QSB Prof (Dr) Manish Srivastava, Director QST Dr Brijmohan Singh, and Dean, Academics, Dr Satendra Kumar were also present, along with members of the Academic Council.
