Chamoli, 2 Dec: In a significant relief for Pagano and Badginda Tok of Jyotirmath Tehsil, a major decision has been taken regarding the rehabilitation of 43 families in the area. The government has shared that funds for the rehabilitation of 43 families have been approved for this initiative, and the work is expected to commence soon.
Sources state that an amount of Rs 192.50 lakhs has been approved for the rehabilitation of 43 affected families. These include 40 families from the landslide-affected Pagano village and 3 affected families from Talla Badginda Tok of village Urgam under Jyotirmath Tehsil. The district-level rehabilitation committee constituted under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari has formally approved the rehabilitation of disaster-affected families. However, the process of land selection is still underway at the tehsil level for the remaining affected families from Pagano village.
The District Magistrate has directed the SDM, Jyotirmath, to distribute the allocated amount for rehabilitation among the affected families as per the rules and to ensure basic facilities at the rehabilitation sites. District Disaster Management Officer NK Joshi confirmed that the government has allocated Rs 1.925 crores for the task. The district-level rehabilitation committee, chaired by the District Magistrate, has released the allocated funds to the tehsil administration for the rehabilitation. The work is expected to commence soon.
