Haridwar, 26 Dec: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi participated as the Chief Guest at the 23rd blanket distribution programme organised by the Rural Welfare Committee at the Pherupur Degree College in Haridwar.
Minister Ganesh Joshi received a warm welcome and was felicitated by the organisers. During the event, the Minister distributed blankets to hundreds of the poor, helpless, widows, and differently-abled people.
Minister Joshi praised the committee for its commendable work, including setting up drinking water stations during summer, organising sugarcane farmer exhibitions, rural women handicraft exhibitions, and honouring talented individuals in rural areas. He noted that the committee has been consistently engaged in such activities for the past 31 years and has distributed blankets to over 20,000 needy individuals, despite having limited resources.
He also acknowledged the selfless service of the 150 members from 25 villages who are actively involved in these charitable activities. The Minister emphasised that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the government is working in line with the aspirations of the people. He further stated that the various schemes of the central and state governments are focused on helping the poor and helpless sections of society.
The Minister mentioned that a multi-purpose camp would soon be organised in the area to ensure that people who are missing out on development schemes benefit from them. He said that the BJP government is dedicated to ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in society.
On this occasion, Minister Joshi also honoured social workers who have made significant contributions in various social sectors. He congratulated and extended his best wishes to the committee’s officials and members for organising the event.
The event was attended by Committee Patron and former Cabinet Minister Swami Yatishwaranand, State President, BJP OBC Morcha, Rakesh Giri, Income Tax Lawyer and President of Pherupur Degree College, Balesh Bhargav, Sugar Mill General Manager SP Singh, Amit Chauhan, Jagpal Singh Saini, Darsana Singh, Balm Singh, Nashi Ram Kashyap, and other committee members.
