Dehradun, 13 Jan: Vijay Sharma, a resident of the United States and a Non-Resident Uttarakhandi, called on the Governor, Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Raj Bhavan, here, today.
During the meeting, a discussion was held about the role of the NRI community in the development of Uttarakhand. The expatriate Uttarakhandis have made significant contributions in areas such as education, healthcare, cultural preservation, and job creation.
The Governor said, “It is a matter of pride to see that Uttarakhandis settled around the world are not only preserving the culture of “Devbhumi” and their unique identity but are also actively contributing to the development and prosperity of the state. I congratulate them for their commendable efforts.”
