DEHRADUN, 12 Feb: The Uttarakhand government has implemented stringent provisions to maintain the confidentiality of personal information under the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Additional Secretary Home and senior IPS officer Nivedita Kukreti has asserted that no third party will have access to the details provided during the registration of services. Only the total number of registrations completed under the UCC will be made public, ensuring that no individual’s personal information is disclosed.

According to Kukreti, safeguarding personal data is a top priority under the UCC. Details such as name, address, mobile number, Aadhaar number, religion, and caste will not be publicly accessible at any level. The only information available to the public will be the number of registrations recorded under the UCC, which has already started appearing on the official website.

She added that only the applicant can request details related to their application. In cases where information is required jointly, the request must be made through a joint application. No other individual will have access to these details.

Kukreti also clarified that registration data under the UCC will be shared with the respective police stations for record-keeping purposes. The station in-charge concerned will be permitted to review these details under the supervision of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). Any misuse of this information at any level will result in strict action against the responsible individual, as per established regulations.
